The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) has stepped up controls in the food sector, checking 1,071 establishments, including restaurants and shops, following the increase in the number of tourists. Inspectors imposed 246 fines, temporarily suspended 23 establishments and detained 3,203 kg of unfit food products. ANSVSA President Alexandru Bociu stressed the importance of compliance with food safety rules, encouraging consumers to report irregularities through the ANSVSA Call-Center.
