Artificial intelligence has the potential to increase global exports and imports by 37% by 2040, according to a WTO report. AI improves efficiency and transparency in trade, having a significant impact on digital services, with a nearly 42% increase in trade. However, WTO Director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala warns that without proactive measures, AI could amplify existing inequalities, concentrating technology and resources in wealthy countries. International cooperation and educational improvement are necessary to avoid these discrepancies.
