The 400 fixed speed cameras will be placed on national roads with high accident risk, such as DN1, DN2, DN6 and DN7, and on the A1 and A2 highways. The devices, which will be installed on overpasses and metal supports, will be used by the Romanian police to monitor speed and issue tickets to offenders. Deployment is estimated for the middle of next year, with a contract worth 83 million lei. Since the beginning of the year, the E-safe system has caught more than 6,600 drivers speeding.
