At the World Economic Forum in Davos, the author of the bestseller 'Sapiens', Yuval Noah Harari, emphasized that AI technology will create two major crises for every country: an identity crisis and an immigration crisis. Harari explained that as AI becomes increasingly capable of thinking, people will face a threat to the value they place on their intellectual abilities.
Moreover, he compared the impact of AI to that of immigrants, suggesting that AI will bring both benefits and cultural and economic disruptions. Harari raised the question of whether societies should recognize AI as 'legal persons', having legal rights, and emphasized the importance of current decisions for the future of humanity.
He was also supported by Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, who mentioned that 'AI immigrants' will take jobs that people no longer want to occupy.
