WhatsApp will implement special accounts for teenagers under the age of 13, aiming to provide parents with greater control over their children's online activity.

These accounts will only allow written communication and direct calls, excluding access to sections such as Status or Channels. Additionally, children will not be exposed to advertising.

Creating an account requires the presence of parents, who will scan a QR code from both phones. Parents will be notified about the addition, blocking, or reporting of contacts by their children and will be able to activate alerts for various activities, including changing the name or profile picture.

Messages from new contacts will be directed to a special folder, accessible only with a PIN.

Accounts for users under 13 will be gradually implemented in the coming months, according to the announcement made by Meta.
