The European Commission, represented by spokesperson Thomas Regnier, announced that it is in discussions with OpenAI and Anthropic to gain access to their advanced artificial intelligence models. OpenAI has confirmed that it will provide the European Union access to its new model GPT-5.5-Cyber, while Anthropic is still evaluating the request for access to its model Mythos. The discussions have been constructive, but no final conclusion has been reached in the case of Anthropic. Cybersecurity experts warn that Mythos could pose significant challenges for the banking industry, which has raised concerns among regulatory authorities. American banks, such as JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, have already begun testing Mythos technology, and the President of the German Central Bank has called for equal access for all institutions to maintain a fair competitive environment.
