Researchers analyzed 62,000 conversations from 668 ChatGPT users to identify personality traits

A recent study analyzed over 62,000 conversations conducted by 668 ChatGPT users from the United States and the United Kingdom, with the aim of identifying the personality traits of the participants. Researchers used an AI model to detect the five major personality traits known as the 'Big Five': agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, extraversion, and openness to new experiences. Participants completed standard psychological tests, and the AI's results were compared with actual evaluations, with the model managing to predict users' traits with an accuracy of up to 61%. The results showed that the AI identified agreeable and emotionally stable individuals best, but had difficulties estimating conscientiousness. Researchers emphasized that the analysis becomes more accurate with a larger history of conversations. However, they warned about the risks of manipulation and misinformation, highlighting the need for solutions to protect users' personal data.
