A satellite from the Starlink constellation of SpaceX experienced an anomaly in orbit at an altitude of approximately 418 kilometers, which led to the loss of contact with the spacecraft and the emission of tracked space debris.

The incident caused the venting of the propulsion tank and a rapid decrease of the semi-major axis by approximately 4 km, releasing a small amount of tracked objects. SpaceX is collaborating with NASA and the U.S. Space Force to monitor the fragments of space debris generated. Although the satellite is largely intact and will roll towards Earth, it does not pose risks to the International Space Station.
