Netflix has announced the acquisition of InterPositive, a technology company for film production founded by Oscar-winning actor and director Ben Affleck. This company develops artificial intelligence-based tools for filmmaking, and the financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The media industry is increasingly adopting the use of AI in content creation, despite previous concerns about its impact on jobs and intellectual property rights. Bela Bajaria, Netflix's content chief, emphasized that the new tools should expand creative freedom, not limit it. The acquisition is the first made by Netflix after withdrawing from the race to acquire Warner Bros Discovery's assets. Ben Affleck will become a senior advisor to Netflix, continuing to contribute to the development of technologies that respect the creative intent of artists.
