NASA finalizes preparations for the launch of the Artemis II mission, scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, with a launch window opening at 6:24 p.m. EDT.

Astronauts and agency officials have confirmed that the spacecraft, rocket, and ground teams are ready, with an 80% chance that the weather will allow for takeoff. The crew, consisting of four members, is in quarantine and has participated in the final briefings, discussing the final training and the international significance of the mission.

Artemis II will be the first crewed mission of the Artemis program, aimed at testing the life support systems of the Orion capsule and preparing for future lunar and Mars missions. This will mark the first time in over 50 years that a crewed mission will exceed low Earth orbit.
