Google has announced that it will unify Chrome OS with Android, creating a single system that will run on smartphones, laptops and possibly tablets. This unification, confirmed by Android chief Sameer Samat, is aimed at reducing fragmentation and easing updates, as well as integrating Gemini AI. No technical details were given, however, and concerns persist about security and functionality on laptops. The company did not specify a timeline for deployment of this new unified system.
