Google has launched a highly anticipated feature that allows users to change their @gmail.com email address without losing data and services associated with the account. This option is intended for those who have old addresses that no longer reflect current needs. According to an update on the support page, users can replace the existing address with a new one, keeping the old address as an alias. Emails sent to the original address will continue to arrive in the inbox, and all data, including emails and photos, will remain intact.
Currently, the information is only available in the Hindi version of the support page, suggesting an initial launch in India. Limitations include the inability to create a new Gmail address for 12 months after the change. Google has not provided official details about the implementation timeline or priority regions.
