Frontex announced the winner of the competition dedicated to the most effective methods of combating drones used in illegal activities at the borders of the European Union. Four companies reached the final: Adevex Solutiones (Spain), Dat Con (Slovenia), MBDA (France), and Nordic Air Defence (Sweden). They tested their solutions for three weeks in Portugal, in realistic scenarios that included detection, tracking, identification, and neutralization of drones. The winning system, Sky Warden, developed by MBDA, demonstrated maximum effectiveness, successfully preventing drones from crossing the border. The winning company was awarded 270,000 euros, and its solution will support the future of European law enforcement in combating cross-border crime.
