The ChatGPT platform, developed by OpenAI, reached the milestone of one billion active users per month in May 2023, approximately three and a half years after its launch. This performance surpassed the previous record held by Google Maps, which took five years to reach the same number of users. Although ChatGPT's success comes in a context where public opinion towards artificial intelligence is becoming more reserved, the use of AI applications continues to grow. Competitors like Claude and Meta AI have recorded significant user increases, while OpenAI has experienced a rise in uninstalls following the announcement of its collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense. A recent study shows that 74% of employees regularly use AI tools, and the global artificial intelligence market could exceed $4.8 trillion by 2033. Experts believe that ethical concerns will not significantly affect the adoption of the technology.
