<p>Recently, the Suceava Zoo celebrated the birth of a liger, a rare hybrid between a lion and a tigress. Dorin Șoimaru, a collector of exotic animals, said he was delighted by the event, as there are only about 20 specimens in the world. Ligers are known for their impressive size and swimming skills inherited from tigers. Males are sterile, but females can reproduce. This birth emphasizes the rarity of these animals, which are born in captivity and have minimal chance of survival in the wild.
