Amazon is expanding its investments in artificial intelligence (AI) through its MGM studio, aiming to reduce production costs and accelerate deliveries for film and television projects.

Albert Cheng leads a dedicated team within the "AI Studio," which develops proprietary AI tools to support the entire production cycle, from planning and budgeting to editing and post-production optimization. Amazon emphasizes that AI will assist industry professionals by automating technical tasks and improving coordination, without replacing human creativity. This initiative utilizes Amazon Web Services infrastructure, allowing for large-scale experimentation and collaboration with industry partners to validate tools in real production environments. Amazon will launch a beta program in March, with preliminary results expected in May. This approach reflects a broader trend in which AI becomes an integral part of creative workflows, not just a tool for automation.
