Amazon has announced the integration of artificial intelligence into its Kindle e-book service, allowing users to obtain information about actions, characters, and themes without revealing spoilers. This feature can be accessed during reading by highlighting a word or a paragraph. Authors do not have the option to disable this feature, which could generate legal issues for the company. AI-generated responses are available exclusively to users who have purchased or rented the book and cannot be copied or shared. Although Amazon continues to integrate AI into its services, it recently discontinued its use for summarizing series on Prime Video due to issues with generated false information. This situation raises questions about the accuracy of the information provided by AI in the case of books.
