The Minister of Education of the Republic of Moldova, Dan Perciun, stated that approximately 30% of students use artificial intelligence to complete their university assignments. However, the state does not have an effective centralized mechanism for detecting plagiarism. Theses created with the help of AI cannot be identified with current software, and universities use various verification tools. Perciun emphasized the need to develop a national software for preventing plagiarism that would centralize all bachelor's theses. At the end of December, there will be discussions about the use of artificial intelligence in higher education, in the context of academic integrity. The challenges posed by the use of AI are recognized at the European level, and the lack of uniform standards complicates the distinction between the legal use of technology and violations of academic integrity principles.
