At the Munich Security Conference, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, made a strong appeal for more weapons from the West and for "real security guarantees" for Ukraine. He characterized Russian President Vladimir Putin as "a slave of war," warning that his threat extends beyond Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized that, despite planned trilateral discussions with Russia and the U.S., Moscow shows no signs of compromise. With nearly four years of war in Ukraine, the number of casualties has alarmingly increased, and Russian attacks have severely affected the country's energy infrastructure. Zelensky insisted on the need for solid security guarantees for Ukraine, which should be established before any peace agreement.
