The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on a visit to Azerbaijan, proposed that future negotiations with Russia take place in this Caucasian country. After meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready for trilateral negotiations. He mentioned that previous meetings took place in Turkey and Switzerland, with the participation of American partners. Zelensky emphasized the importance of Russia finding the strength to end the war, while also appreciating the role of international partners in mediating the negotiation process. Azerbaijan has also hosted meetings between NATO military officials and representatives of the Russian army between 2017 and 2020, which gives it a significant role in this diplomatic context.
