The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is considering the possibility of making a visit to Washington next week, after receiving an invitation to the funeral of former Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, according to Suspilne. So far, the Ukrainian presidential office has not officially confirmed the trip, and Kyiv is considering sending a senior official in place of Zelensky.
Diplomatic sources suggest that the Ukrainian leader may have a meeting with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, considering the deadlock in peace negotiations that have lasted for six months. Diplomatic efforts between Washington and Kyiv have intensified recently, including through the visit of Trump's special envoy to NATO, Matt Whitaker, for discussions about the delivery of Patriot missiles. Zelensky also had a phone conversation with Trump's special envoys, describing it as "good and important," focused on ways to advance the diplomatic process.
