The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed deep frustrations towards Vladimir Putin after the peace negotiations in Geneva did not yield progress. In a post on X and in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Zelensky stated that he does not need "history" to end the war, considering that historical discussions are merely a delaying tactic. Criticizing the Russian delegation for its lengthy historical presentations, Zelensky emphasized that he wants to focus on resolving the conflict, not on its historical reasons. He also mentioned that he has visited more cities in Russia than Putin has visited in Ukraine, which gives him a deeper understanding of the Russian mentality. Recent negotiations have been described as "difficult," with limited progress due to sensitive territorial issues. Zelensky stressed that, to end the war, it is essential for leaders to collaborate directly, despite his distrust of Putin, whom he holds responsible for the deaths of many people in Ukraine.
