According to a poll conducted by YouGov for the TUI Foundation, the majority of young people in Germany aged between 16 and 26 oppose the reintroduction of compulsory military service, with 55% rejecting the idea. In 2021, only 42% supported the measure. Although the German government plans to strengthen its military, pressure is growing to introduce compulsory conscription. In contrast, 80% of young people support staying in the EU, with migration seen as the most important political issue.
