In a phone conversation with his Brazilian counterpart, Xi Jinping stated that China will support Brazil, the largest economy in Latin America, and other countries in the Global South. He emphasized the importance of protecting the common interests of these nations and defending the role of the United Nations in the face of current international turmoil. Xi's statements come in a changing geopolitical context, in which the Trump administration is reshaping global influence.

These messages reflect China's efforts to position itself as a stable alternative to the United States, attracting countries that wish to shield themselves from the instability of American politics. Brazil is considered a key partner by Beijing, especially in light of the U.S. attempts to counter China's influence in Latin America, amid rising tensions in the region.
