Senator John Thune took the necessary steps on Saturday to organize a vote on the "Clarity Act," a bill that could bring a comprehensive set of federal rules for the cryptocurrency industry in the United States. The vote is scheduled for September, as senators will be on parliamentary recess in August.

The "Clarity Act" will define when digital currencies are considered securities or commodities and will establish the regulatory authorities responsible for overseeing them. Companies in the crypto sector argue that this legislation is essential to provide legal clarity and encourage the adoption of cryptocurrencies.

The adoption of the act would represent a significant victory for Donald Trump, who previously signed a law regarding stablecoins. The Trump family has reported considerable income from crypto businesses, highlighting their interest in this field.

The law must obtain 60 votes to pass the Senate, and Republicans believe it has a chance, despite opposition from Democrats who are calling for stricter regulations.
