In Dublin, 23 people were arrested after violent clashes with the police, on the third consecutive night of anti-immigration protests. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside a hotel housing asylum seekers, waving Irish flags and chanting slogans against immigration, following an alleged sexual assault on a 10-year-old girl.
The police intervened after two officers were injured, one being struck with a bottle. The Minister of Justice stated that the police will continue to respond firmly to violence, and those arrested will be dealt with severely by the justice system. During the protests, acts of vandalism were recorded, and a police vehicle was set on fire. The Prime Minister condemned the violence and emphasized that there is no justification for attacks on law enforcement.
