Authorities in Utah have officially closed a 51-year-old cold case, identifying Laura Ann Aime, a 17-year-old girl, as a victim of the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy. Laura disappeared on Halloween night in 1974, and her body was discovered a month later in American Fork Canyon. The Utah County Sheriff's Office announced that new DNA tests have unequivocally confirmed the presence of Bundy's DNA on Laura's body.

Bundy, who killed at least 30 women between 1974 and 1978, confessed to killing Laura but did not provide enough details to close the case. Utah County Sheriff Mike Smith stated that if Bundy had been alive, prosecutors would have sought the death penalty. Laura was described as a sociable and active person, loving outdoor activities. Bundy, known for his manipulative approaches, was first arrested in 1975 but escaped twice before being finally caught in 1978.
