A US Navy F-35C crashed Wednesday near Naval Air Station Lemoore, California. The pilot managed to eject safely and emergency crews responded to the scene. The crash occurred in an agricultural area and flames were visible after impact. The aircraft belonged to the VF-125 squadron, responsible for training pilots. The F-35 is a fifth-generation airplane prized for its advanced technology, but has been the subject of maintenance controversies.
