The US military has announced that one of its fighter jets was accidentally shot down by its own fleet over the Red Sea.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, when an F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet was accidentally struck by an escort of the aircraft carrier 'Harry S. Truman'. The two pilots survived but had to eject. The plane was conducting operations over the Red Sea, an area where US forces are battling Iran-backed Houthi militias.
