The Trump administration has passed a new measure imposing a $250 fee on foreign visitors applying for nonimmigrant visas. This will apply to anyone who is not part of the Visa Waiver program. The fee will be required at visa issuance and there will be no waiver. Even though it is refundable, advocates suggest that the refund process is not clear, and travel associations believe it will deter visitors because of the additional costs.
