The US is sending three Aegis destroyers to Venezuelan waters to combat drug trafficking in Latin America, according to officials.

The USS Gravely, USS Jason Dunham and USS Sampson will be deployed to the region as part of President Trump's efforts to combat drug cartel threats. These ships will support counternarcotics activities for several months. The decision comes as Trump calls for the use of the military to counter the cartels responsible for the flow of fentanyl and violence in American communities.
