Pete Hegseth, the US Secretary of Defense, will not be present at the upcoming 50-state meeting on military support for Ukraine, a first since the format was created. Although he attended the last meeting in February, he did not chair it, and his absence is seen by Europeans as an indication of the Trump administration's intention to let Europe coordinate military assistance. The meeting will take place on April 11 in Brussels, co-chaired by Britain and Germany.
