Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, emphasized the importance of involving Ukraine in decisions that affect it, following a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Her comments come in the context of a 28-point American plan that was sent to Kyiv without the participation of Ukrainians or Europeans in its development.
This situation has raised concerns about how international relations are managed and the need to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and will in the decision-making process. Von der Leyen reaffirmed that nothing should be decided without the direct involvement of Ukraine.
