Speaking at a NATO summit forum, Ursula von der Leyen said that Europe's defense has been activated in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, highlighting major changes in the security architecture. She stressed that the North Atlantic Alliance aims to allocate 5% of GDP to defense by 2035. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stressed the need for close cooperation between Europe and the US to counter threats. President Zelenski called for increased investment in Ukraine's defense and stressed the importance of ensuring that arms production does not support Russian aggression.
