The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated in Parliament that the EC will draft a legal text regarding the use of frozen Russian assets. She emphasized that Ukraine's future is in the European Union and stressed that any peace agreement must ensure real security for both Ukraine and Europe.

Von der Leyen welcomed the efforts of American President Donald Trump for peace but warned against concessions that could weaken borders, stating that legitimizing discussions about borders could pave the way for other conflicts. She also highlighted the need to maintain pressure on Russia until a fair and lasting peace is achieved.
