On Monday evening, four unidentified military-type drones violated a no-fly zone and flew towards the trajectory of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's plane, which had recently landed at Dublin airport. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM, and Irish authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether the drones took off from land or an undetected vessel. It is suspected that the drones took off near the locality of Howth and flew for two hours. The drones, which were observed with their lights on, were considered a threat, and the incident was classified as a hybrid attack, given the military nature of the drones. Irish authorities convened an emergency meeting to discuss security, considering similar recent incursions in Europe that led to the closure of airports in Brussels and Denmark. Although the incident did not have major consequences, it highlighted Ireland's security deficiencies in the context of Zelensky's visit.
