The clothing retailer Under Armour has announced that it is investigating a recent data breach that affected approximately 72 million email addresses and other personal information of customers, such as names, genders, birth dates, and postal codes. The breach reportedly occurred at the end of last year, according to the cybersecurity site Have I Been Pwned.

The Baltimore-based company stated that there is no evidence that customer passwords or financial information have been compromised, emphasizing that any suggestion to this effect is unfounded. The CEO of Have I Been Pwned, Troy Hunt, stated that he agrees with Under Armour's claims but expressed surprise at the lack of an official statement from the company, given the scale of the breach and the time elapsed since the incident. Hunt mentioned that although Under Armour is a victim of criminal activity, it is unusual for an organization of this size not to issue such a statement.
