At a summit in Ethiopia, UN Secretary General António Guterres stressed that hunger must not be used as a weapon of war in the context of the humanitarian crises in Gaza and Sudan. More than 280 million Africans suffer from malnutrition and the UN report shows that 636-720 million people face global hunger. The African Union is calling on international partners to honor their funding commitments to address this crisis, highlighting the impact of climate change and conflict on food security.
