A Ukrainian citizen, identified as Serhii K., accused of involvement in the sabotage of the Nordstream pipelines in 2022, will continue his legal fight against his extradition to Germany. An appeals court in Bologna has decided on his transfer to Germany, confirming a previous ruling. His lawyer, Nicola Canestrini, announced that the hearing at the Supreme Court in Italy will take place in about a month, and the suspect will remain in Italy until then.
The defense emphasizes that it will continue to contest the case from the perspective of international law and human rights. Serhii K. was arrested in August, and the explosions in September 2022, which affected the supply of Russian gas to Europe, have not been claimed by anyone, and Ukraine has denied any involvement.
