Ukraine has created a new military branch for air defense, dedicated to the use of interceptor drones, subordinate to the Air Forces.

The head of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Syrski, announced the establishment of the unmanned aerial defense systems forces, which will support tactical aviation and surface-to-air missile crews. This formation aims to protect cities and critical infrastructure by intercepting Russian attack drones. Drones manufactured in Ukraine have demonstrated an effectiveness of over 70% in destroying these threats. Additionally, Ukraine has begun the production of tactical radars to enhance air defense capabilities.
