The Ukrainian army carried out a drone attack on the refinery in Sizyran, Samara region, on the night from Saturday to Sunday, according to Reuters. This is the second attack on the refinery in August and the fourth this month. The attack caused a fire, and damage assessment is underway, according to the General Staff of Kyiv.
Additionally, a recent strike on the Volgograd refinery damaged a pipeline and equipment for producing lubricants. The Sizyran refinery, with an annual capacity of 8.9 million tons of oil, has been attacked in the past, including in December. Furthermore, the Ukrainian General Staff announced a successful attack on the Novošachtinsk refinery in the Rostov region, using Storm Shadow cruise missiles, causing numerous explosions.
