Volodymyr Zelensky announces a ceasefire once again, unlike the one announced by Russia: "It is time for Russian leaders to take real measures to end their war."

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that Ukraine will declare a ceasefire starting at 00:00 on the night of May 5-6, despite not having received official signals from Russia regarding the cessation of hostilities, as was announced on Russian social networks. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced a ceasefire between May 8 and 9, but Zelensky emphasized that there had been no direct dialogue on this matter.

The Ukrainian president emphasized that human life is more valuable than any anniversary and called on Russian leaders to move from rhetoric to concrete actions to end the war. Although Vladimir Putin mentioned Russia's willingness to declare a ceasefire on May 9, the discussions did not include Ukrainian authorities.
