Two people died in a serious railway accident that occurred in the town of Adamuz, Spain, where two high-speed trains collided after one of the trains derailed.

The accident occurred when a train traveling on the Malaga – Madrid route derailed at a switch, entering the adjacent track where another train coming from Huelva towards Madrid was located. The total number of injured passengers is still unknown, and some people are trapped in the carriages. A journalist on board described how the last two carriages jumped off the tracks, and rescue teams quickly intervened to evacuate the passengers. Rail traffic between Andalusia and Madrid has been suspended, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
