Kanye West, also known as Ye, was criticized by Turkey after a concert held on May 30 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, where he performed the song "I Am A God" in front of approximately 100,000 spectators.
The chief advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Oktar Saral, denounced the event, stating that it offended the religious values of the country and emphasized that the artist's performance of the song constituted a "serious issue" that requires thorough examination. Saral also mentioned the involvement of conservative segments of society, considering the concert a "cultural aggression."
Despite being controversial, the concert generated significant revenue, nearly 100 million dollars, and caused traffic congestion in Istanbul.
Kanye West continues his European tour, with concerts planned in the Netherlands, Albania, Spain, and Portugal.
