The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Ukrainian ambassador and the chargé d'affaires of Russia to discuss Ukraine's recent attacks on Russian oil tankers in the Black Sea, which have escalated tensions in the region. Turkish Deputy Minister Berris Ekinci emphasized that these attacks threaten the safety of navigation and trade in Turkey's exclusive economic zone. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the attacks are unacceptable and called for respect for international law. Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria are analyzing measures to enhance maritime security. Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of piracy and threatened retaliation against ships supporting these attacks. Turkey warned all parties involved to cease actions that affect the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.
