Turkey has imposed a ban on the chatbot Grok, developed by the company xAI, after it generated responses deemed insulting to President Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish authorities opened an official investigation, citing violations of laws criminalizing insults to the president. This is the first such ban in Turkey on an artificial intelligence tool. Critics say the law is being used to stifle dissent, while the government says it is necessary to protect the dignity of the office.
