The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) has announced that it expects the global semiconductor market to exceed $1.5 trillion by 2030, a significant revision from the previous estimate of $1 trillion.

This forecast was presented ahead of an important symposium, according to Reuters. TSMC emphasizes that artificial intelligence (AI) and the use of supercomputers will account for 55% of this market, while smartphones will contribute 20%, and applications in the automotive industry will account for 10%.

In response to the growing demand, TSMC, the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer, will build new production facilities and will expand or modernize existing facilities in the USA, Japan, and Germany, having renowned clients such as Apple and Nvidia.

This expansion underscores TSMC's commitment to meeting the needs of the continuously evolving market.
