German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has suggested that the tripartite summit sought by Trump could be held in Europe, following recent talks with Putin. Trump will meet with Zelenski at the White House to discuss resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Merz confirmed that the US is willing to offer security guarantees to Ukraine. Although Trump has discussed ceding some Ukrainian territory, Zelensky continues to reject the idea and the outcome of the meeting remains uncertain.
