American President Donald Trump will visit China from March 31 to April 2, according to a White House official. This meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping is eagerly anticipated, considering the trade tensions between the two countries. Trump mentioned that the visit will be "tumultuous" and emphasized the importance of organizing a grand presentation in China. This will be his first personal visit after the meeting in October in South Korea, where tariff reductions and measures against illegal trade were discussed.
Discussions will also include the issue of Taiwan, considering the recent sales of American weapons to the island, which have generated tensions with Beijing. Trump indicated that Xi Jinping promised to consider increasing soybean purchases from the U.S., an important aspect for American farmers. Although Trump has adopted a more aggressive policy towards China in the past, he has recently relaxed some measures in key areas.
