Donald Trump has said Russia will suffer "very serious consequences" if Vladimir Putin does not agree to end the war in Ukraine. At a scheduled meeting in Alaska, Trump avoided specifics about possible sanctions, but emphasized that he does not believe he can persuade Russia to stop attacks on civilians. He expressed a desire to hold a second trilateral meeting with Zelenski and Putin, stressing the importance of a ceasefire. The Ukrainian President called for further sanctions against Russia and insisted on the need to engage in talks on the future of Ukraine.
